August 7, 2025 – The Director General of KASITDA (Kano State Information Technology Development Agency) welcomed a high-level delegation from MTN Nigeria to Kano in a strategic move to boost digital transformation. The meeting aimed at expanding MTN’s fibre infrastructure across the state, which is vital to improving internet connectivity and supporting Nigeria’s digital economy.
“We are open to supporting MTN’s fibre expansion,” the DG stated, adding that fast-growing areas like Kwankwasiyya and Amana City Estates should be considered for deployment. These locations reflect strong government interest and investment potential.
The discussion also focused on increasing MTN’s reach in schools, hospitals, and underserved communities. “We see this as a step toward deeper collaboration,” the DG noted.
This engagement marks an important milestone in building public-private partnerships that will bridge Kano’s digital infrastructure gap.
