August 15, 2025 – Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative has announced the call for applications for its Capacity Building Workshop on Promoting Budget Literacy Amongst Citizens in Kwara State.

The organisation is inviting residents and individuals committed to improving governance to participate in the programme.

The workshop is supported by the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre and Christian Aid in Nigeria. It is designed to help participants understand how the budget process works, its effect on public services, and how to protect their tax rights. “We want citizens to know their obligations, learn to use the Grievance Redress Mechanism to report tax-related concerns, and gain practical skills in budget monitoring,” the statement said.

The workshop will take place physically in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Thursday, 28th August 2025, at 9:00AM.

Due to venue capacity, attendance will be limited.

Participants will be encouraged to take follow-up actions in their communities or organisations by applying the citizen scorecard to assess budget performance.
