The Executive Chairman of Okobo Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Engr. George Henshaw, earlier today officially flagged off the payment of the 2025 Bursary and Grant to students from Okobo LGA, Akwa Ibom State. The symbolic ceremony took place at the Council Secretariat and was witnessed by Council officials, National Executives, and Chapter Presidents of the National Association of Okobo Students (NAOS).
According to the Chairman, a total of 388 students from more than 25 higher institutions across the country will benefit from this initiative. Out of the number, 337 students will receive ₦20,000 each, while 51 students offering professional courses will receive ₦30,000 each.
“The Council has also undertaken the payment of dues on behalf of all the beneficiaries’ Students’ Association – NAOS. This is to ensure that there is no deduction by the Students’ Body,” he said.
The payment, processed directly to beneficiaries’ individual bank accounts, marks the first phase of the bursary disbursement.
