The JEF Business Grant (JEF-BG) application is now open, offering a total empowerment fund of $525,000 to support young entrepreneurs and small businesses in Nigeria. The initiative is designed to provide financial assistance to promising ventures, with priority given to businesses operating in agriculture, manufacturing, and technology. However, entrepreneurs in other sectors with strong social or economic impact are also encouraged to apply.
The Jerry Eze Foundation, the charitable arm of Pastor Jerry Eze’s ministry, is widely recognized for its impactful outreach across Nigeria. Through this grant programme, the Foundation aims to strengthen small businesses, promote job creation, and drive sustainable economic growth. In addition to financial support, all successful applicants will participate in a 12-week business education course sponsored by the Tony Elumelu Foundation to enhance their entrepreneurial and management skills.
To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens or legal residents living and operating in Nigeria and must be at least 18 years old at the time of application. The grant is open to individual entrepreneurs with a registered business name and to Micro and Small Enterprises (SMEs) duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a Business Name, Limited Liability Company, or Non-Governmental Organisation. The business must have been operational for at least six months prior to the application date and must maintain a valid business bank account in the business name. Annual turnover must not exceed ₦10 million.
Applicants are required to demonstrate a clear need for funding and explain how the grant will be utilized. They must also confirm that they have not been convicted of fraud, financial misconduct, or any criminal activity. Proposed business plans must align with ethical standards and show measurable community impact.
Required documents include a valid means of identification (NIN), curriculum vitae, six months’ bank statements, proof of business registration, business budget, photographs of the business premises and equipment, two reference letters (from a religious leader and a customer), and a passport photograph.
