Abia State begins second batch 2025 teachers recruitment

Abia State Government has announced the commencement of the second batch of the 2025 teachers recruitment exercise under the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. According to the statement, the online application portal will be open from November 6, 2025, to November 19, 2025. Interested candidates are advised to submit their applications within the two-week window.

In a notice released by the Ministry, applicants are required to apply free of charge through the official website at www.mobse-abiastategov.ng. The Ministry stated that “shortlisted candidates will be notified by SMS and/or email and invited for a Computer Based Test (CBT). Only candidates who are successful in the CBT test would be invited for an oral interview.”

The government outlined the eligibility requirements, noting that all applicants must be below 45 years of age as of December 31, 2025. It added that qualified candidates should hold at least an NCE, Degree, Masters, or PhD. The Ministry emphasized that “the ongoing teachers recruitment exercise is intended to fill teachers shortfall in remote areas of the State,” and successful applicants “can be deployed to any area of the State including rural and riverine areas.”

According to the Ministry, the recruitment is open to both Abians and non-Abians residing in Abia State. Persons with disabilities are also encouraged to apply but must possess qualifications in Special Needs Education. Applicants are urged to fill in their academic records correctly and upload their highest qualifications.

The Ministry further cautioned that “the name used in your application cannot be changed at any stage of the recruitment exercise.” It also stated that individuals without teaching qualifications can still apply, but if successful, “they are expected to obtain relevant teaching qualifications within two years as a prerequisite for confirmation of their appointment.”
