The Adamawa State Civil Service Commission has released a statement debunking a fake recruitment notice currently circulating on social media platforms. The forged document, which claimed to announce the conclusion of the 2025 Civil Service Recruitment Exercise, was said to have been signed by the Permanent Secretary, Abubakar Umar Maiha. However, the Commission has clarified that the publication is not genuine and did not originate from its office.
According to the statement, “The said document is fake and its contents are entirely false. At no time did the Commission issue such a press statement, and the signature of the Permanent Secretary was criminally forged.” The Commission advised applicants and the general public to disregard the notice completely.
The Commission highlighted that it is still finalizing legitimate processes for the recruitment exercise and will release updates only through verified government communication channels. This step is intended to prevent misinformation and protect applicants from falling victim to false announcements.
Furthermore, the Commission issued a warning that individuals or groups involved in producing or spreading forged documents will face legal consequences. “Any individual or group found to be involved in the production or circulation of forged official documents will be apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law,” the statement noted.
Permanent Secretary Abubakar Umar Maiha reaffirmed the Commission’s dedication to transparency, merit-based recruitment, and due process in managing the Adamawa State Civil Service. Issued in Yola, 9 November 2025.
