In Nasarawa State, thousands of girls are missing school, not because they don’t want to learn, but because schools lack safety and support.

To change this, the World Bank-funded AGILE Project is set to transform over 690 schools across the state. “We’re upgrading classrooms, building gender-friendly toilets, and creating safe, inclusive spaces,” an AGILE spokesperson said.

These improvements will help girls access quality education in Nigeria. The aim is to reduce dropout rates and increase enrolment, especially in rural areas.

“This goes beyond infrastructure,” the spokesperson added. “It’s about giving every girl the chance to feel respected and ready to thrive.”
