Akwa Ibom State workers have started receiving their 13th month salary ahead of the Christmas celebration, easing preparations for the festive season. Reports from the Office of the Accountant General confirm that payment commenced today, December 16, 2025. The development fulfills the assurance given by Governor Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, who said workers would be paid “on or before December 20.”
The payment aligns with the administration’s commitment to staff welfare. Since the inception of the Umo Eno-led administration in 2023, workers in the state have consistently received their 13th month salary, along with other bonuses and welfare packages.
Observers say the regular payments reinforce the governor’s image as a worker-friendly leader and reflect efforts to prioritize workers’ wellbeing statewide.
