In celebration of the World Youth Skills Day (WYSD), the Government of Akwa Ibom State has launched the ARISE Youth Skills Week, a major initiative aimed at empowering young minds through innovation and technology.
This announcement comes under the theme: “AI-Driven Solutions for Social Good: The Akwa Ibom Case Study.”
Speaking on the importance of the initiative, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, emphasized that the program is part of the state’s broader vision for youth empowerment. “This is your chance to pitch an AI-powered solution that solves real-life problems in Akwa Ibom State from education and health to agriculture and tourism,” the Governor said.
Eligiblity:
The program is open to
1. Youths aged 15-35
2. From or currently living in Akwa Ibom State
3. Innovators, tech enthusiasts, students, teams, or individuals with AI-driven ideas that promote social good
Participants in the AI Pitch Challenge 1.0 stand a chance to win cash prizes, mentorship, and possible incubation or funding.
The rewards include N1 million for first place, N750,000 for second, N500,000 for third, and N300,000 each for fourth and fifth place. Twenty participants will also receive consolation prizes of N100,000 each.
