The Enugu SME Center has partnered with AltSchool Africa and Bybit to launch the ESME/Alt School Digital Skill Grant, a high-impact initiative offering a 50% tuition scholarship to Enugu-based youth interested in building careers in tech.

The scholarship program, officially titled the AltSchool Africa × Bybit × Enugu SME Center Digital Skills Grant, supports 300 Enugu youths to enroll in a 12-month, fully online tech diploma program. With a total tuition cost of N435,000, selected applicants will only pay ₦217,500, the rest is covered by the grant.

“This grant is a strategic investment in the future of our youth,” said the Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Digital Economy and MSMEs, which oversees the Enugu SME Center. “Our goal is to prepare a generation of globally competitive professionals who can drive innovation and economic growth both locally and internationally.”

The training is delivered entirely online by AltSchool Africa. It offers live, instructor-led classes, hands-on projects, and access to a state-of-the-art Learning Management System. It is a structured diploma program, UK-accredited, with internship pathways, career support, and access to a global alumni network.

Applicants can choose from 10 specialized diploma tracks, including Frontend Engineering, Backend Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Science, Product Design (UI/UX), Product Management, and Product Marketing.

“This isn’t just another online course. It’s a government-backed opportunity to break into the global tech industry with solid, in-demand digital skills,” said a representative from AltSchool Africa. “Graduates of this program will receive a UK-accredited diploma, which increases their chances of remote work opportunities and higher earning potential.”

The program is strictly for residents of Enugu State who are 100% committed to completing the 12-month training. No prior tech experience is required.

Governor Dr. Peter Mbah has been vocal about his commitment to digital transformation in Enugu State. “We are building an economy where the youth are digitally skilled and globally relevant,” he said. “This partnership is a step toward that future.”
