The Fegho Umunubo Foundation has opened applications for the second edition of its Grassroots Creative Business Support Initiative (GCBSI), offering eligible creative entrepreneurs and businesses across Nigeria an opportunity to receive grants of between ₦1 million and ₦1.5 million.

The initiative combines financial support with business training and practical assistance to help grassroots creative businesses strengthen their operations, attract more customers and achieve sustainable growth.

The second edition increases the grant amount compared with the first cycle, which disbursed between ₦500,000 and ₦1 million to 22 businesses in February 2026. Those businesses operated across different segments of Nigeria’s creative economy.

Who can apply?

GCBSI 2.0 is designed for creative entrepreneurs and businesses working in sectors including media, film and entertainment, fashion, clothing and textiles, fashion accessories, handmade products, furniture, interior creative businesses, beauty and personal styling.

Other eligible creative areas include arts, crafts, creative design, photography, printing, visual branding, food, baking, creative confectionery, videography and home fragrance.

The initiative targets businesses seeking support to improve their operations and build stronger foundations for growth. Applicants in the listed creative sectors can consider the opportunity, although specific additional eligibility criteria should be checked through the official application form.

What beneficiaries will receive

Successful applicants will receive grants ranging from ₦1 million to ₦1.5 million. Beyond funding, selected beneficiaries will participate in business development training covering marketing, bookkeeping, pricing and financial literacy.

The programme also provides practical business support intended to help entrepreneurs improve how they manage their businesses, reach customers and plan for sustainable growth.

The Foundation’s approach recognises that access to capital alone may not be enough to build a successful business. Entrepreneurs also need practical knowledge, effective financial systems and strategies for reaching customers.

Applications opened on October 1, 2026, and will close on November 1, 2026. Interested creative entrepreneurs should prepare to submit their applications before the deadline.

The programme builds on the Foundation’s earlier support for 22 businesses, expanding the potential grant range for the second edition.
