The Glow-Up Initiative Youth Volunteer and Changemakers Network (GIYVCN) is focused on building a trained network of young people committed to learning, service and community impact. Its work is built around three pillars: Learn, Serve and Lead.
Selected volunteers will have access to free training, masterclasses, mentorship and peer-learning sessions covering leadership, career development, advocacy and social impact.
They will also participate in community projects, outreaches, campaigns and advocacy activities in areas including education, health, climate, gender equality and youth empowerment.
Volunteers may also get opportunities to lead projects, host events, represent their communities or countries and develop their leadership experience.
The programme offers a Certificate of Volunteering and Recommendation Letter, alongside access to selected opportunities, internships and partnerships. Participants will also join a Pan-African network of young people and changemakers.
Who can apply?
The opportunity is open to young people aged 16 to 35 from African countries and beyond. Applicants should be passionate about community development and volunteering and willing to commit at least four hours each month to learning and service.
Applicants should also have access to the internet, WhatsApp or Telegram for communication and training activities.
The initiative says participants can gain practical community service experience, leadership and career development training, mentorship and opportunities to contribute to youth development.
Those interested should be ready to learn, serve and take part in activities throughout the programme.
