The Green Environment and Climate Change Initiative (GRENCHI) has invited applications for field enumerator positions in Awka, Anambra State, to collect farm-level and socio-economic data from farming households for a community development project.
The recruitment is open to candidates who speak Igbo fluently and can conduct interviews with community members. Successful applicants will administer structured questionnaires and gather information to support the project’s engagement strategy.
Selected enumerators will attend a one-day training session organised by GRENCHI before deployment. Their responsibilities will include conducting surveys in Igbo, recording accurate information, submitting completed data on time and following project guidelines.
Enumerators must also protect respondents’ privacy, maintain confidentiality and observe ethical research practices. They will attend daily debriefing sessions with the officer in charge to review data quality and address any challenges encountered during fieldwork.
The assignment is expected to last approximately 10 working days. Applicants should therefore be willing to undertake fieldwork and complete the exercise within the agreed timeframe.
Who can apply?
Applicants must possess at least an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), Higher National Diploma (HND) or bachelor’s degree.
Previous experience in field research, survey administration or data collection will be an added advantage. Candidates should have good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and in teams, and understand basic ethical practices when conducting research in communities.
The opportunity may suit field enumerators, data collectors, community development practitioners, young people involved in agriculture and recent graduates seeking practical research experience.
GRENCHI said applicants must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, accuracy and cultural sensitivity when engaging with farming households. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage of recruitment.
The organisation advised interested candidates to complete the application form carefully and provide accurate information. Applications submitted by email will not be accepted.
