The Jigawa State Government through the Jigawa State Information Technology and Digital Economy Agency (JISITDEA) has opened applications for ARISE Jigawa, a digital skills and employability programme targeted at young people across the state.

ARISE, which stands for Accelerating Readiness, Innovation & Skills for Employment, is a state-backed initiative designed to prepare 1,500 youths for opportunities in Nigeria’s growing digital economy through intensive career readiness and digital literacy training.

According to the organisers, the programme will run as a transformative two-day training aimed at equipping participants with practical workplace and technology-driven skills needed to compete in today’s job market.

The initiative is focused on unemployed and underemployed youths in Jigawa State, especially graduates seeking to improve their employability, professional confidence and access to opportunities.

Participants selected for the programme will receive training in CV writing, interview preparation, Google Suite tools and freelancing. Organisers also stated that beneficiaries will gain networking opportunities with employers and fellow young professionals.

Successful participants will also receive certificates of completion recognised by employers across Nigeria.

The programme is being powered by Aplikant and implemented by Enovatelab in partnership with the Jigawa State Government.

To qualify, applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old, must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and must currently reside in Jigawa State either as residents or indigenes.

Applicants are also expected to possess basic digital literacy skills, including the ability to use a smartphone or computer.

JISITDEA explained that ARISE Jigawa was created as part of the government’s commitment to investing in the future of young people in the state by providing them with the skills, confidence and industry exposure needed to secure meaningful employment.

“We believe in Jigawa’s youth. We invest in your future. That’s why we created ARISE Jigawa — to ensure every young person in our dear state has the skills, confidence, and connections needed to secure meaningful employment and build a prosperous life,” the programme description stated.

Training sessions will take place across multiple locations in the state including Dutse, Kafin Hausa, Hadejia, Gumel, Kazaure and Ringim.

The application deadline is May 24, 2026.

Applications for the programme are currently open and interested candidates can apply through the official Aplikant ARISE portal www.aplikant.app/apply/arise-jigawa.
