The Zamfara State Internal Revenue Service (ZIRS) has opened applications for recruitment exercise, calling on qualified and competent individuals to apply for various positions. The agency said the move aligns with its mandate to enhance revenue mobilization and administration in the state.
ZIRS seeks skilled professionals who show integrity, competence and commitment to public service. The positions available span across Tax Administration, Legal and Compliance as well as Public Enlightenment and Communication. For Inspector of Taxes II, applicants must hold a degree in Accounting, Economics, Taxation or related fields with 0 to 3 years post NYSC experience.
For the Legal and Compliance unit, candidates must hold a Law degree, LL.B and BL, while public communication roles require qualifications in Mass Communication, Public Relations or related disciplines. The agency noted that media and communication certifications will be added advantages. Professional certifications such as CITN, ICAN, ANAN and ACCA are also considered valuable.
General requirements stated that applicants must be Zamfara State indigenes, between the ages of 18 and 35 for entry level roles, and must possess good character with no criminal record. They must be medically fit and certified by a government hospital, have a valid Tax Identification Number and be tax compliant. Candidates should hold a minimum of HND or Bachelor’s Degree with at least a Second Class Lower Division or equivalent, and must present a birth certificate or declaration of age.
The service emphasised required competencies, including ICT proficiency, analytical skills, strong communication abilities, teamwork, leadership potential and attention to detail.
Participation in the recruitment means successful candidates may be posted anywhere in the state based on organizational needs. “Deployment is not restricted to your Local Government Area,” it stated.
The application portal opens on Friday, 05 December 2025 at 12:00 PM and closes on Thursday, 18 December 2025 at 12:04 AM.
