The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially opened its portal for the recruitment of ad-hoc staff ahead of the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election. The registration is being conducted through the INECPRES portal and is strictly for eligible applicants residing in Ekiti State.
According to INEC, the exercise covers several categories of election duties, including Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers, and Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECHs).

Applicants can apply for the following roles:
- Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs)
- Presiding Officers (POs)
- Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs I, II, III)
- RAC Managers
- Registration Area Technical Support Staff (RATECHs)
Eligibility Criteria
INEC outlined detailed requirements based on position and source institution:
- SPOs
- Federal Public/Civil Servants and MDAs on Grade Level 10–14
- INEC staff (RAOs and other permanent staff not engaged in other duties on GL09–14)
- POs/APOs
- Serving NYSC members
- Former NYSC members (not later than 4 years post-service — 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025)
- INEC permanent staff on Grade Level 07 & 08
- Staff of MDAs (Federal and State) with OND or on GL 07–10
- Penultimate students of Federal tertiary institutions
- RAC Managers
- Heads of institutions hosting RAC/Super RAC or suitable staff on Grade Level 07 and above
- RATECHs
- INEC ICT staff (State and Headquarters) not engaged in other election duties
General Requirements
- Applicants must not be members of any political party
- Applicants must not have shown support for any political party or candidate
- Applicants must reside in Ekiti State (except RATECHs who are INEC staff)
