July 1, 2025 – The Lagos State Government, through the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), has announced the reactivation of its official recruitment portal to improve access to employment opportunities in the education sector. This initiative, according to TESCOM, is aimed at promoting equity and fairness in the state’s teaching workforce.
In a public notice issued by the Commission, the recruitment portal will be accessible for two weeks, starting from Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, and closing on Monday, July 14th, 2025. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for entry-level teaching positions at Grade Level 08.
The available positions include Education Officer II and Higher Instructors, all at Grade Level 08. Candidates must meet specific educational requirements. According to the Commission, “Applicants must possess the ORIGINAL certificates of their O’Level results (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), and a First Degree.”
The acceptable degrees include Bachelor of Education (B.Ed/B.Sc Ed/B.A Ed) in disciplines like Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, Technology, and Home Economics. Other valid qualifications are Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Higher National Diploma (HND), and Technical Teachers Certificate (TTC). A Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is an added advantage. Importantly, the notice emphasizes, “Notification or Statement of Result will not be accepted.”
Applicants must also provide their NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificates to complete the process.
