June 5, 2025 – The Bayelsa State Pensions Board has officially announced its annual pensioners’ verification exercise, scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025. This exercise is compulsory for all retirees across the state, and each person is expected to appear on the date set aside for their Local Government Area with their pension identification cards.
Speaking to the press, a board official said, “This is to ensure accurate records and prompt payment of entitlements. Retirees must appear in person and present their valid pension ID cards.”
According to the schedule, the verification for Kolokuma/Opokuma will run from June 10th to 13th, Yenagoa from June 16th to 20th, Ogbia from June 23rd to 27th, and Sagbama from June 30th to July 4th. Ekeremor retirees are scheduled for July 7th to 9th, Nembe from July 10th to 15th, Brass from July 16th to 18th, and Southern Ijaw from July 21st to 25th.

Spillover cases will be treated from July 28th to August 1st, while retirees from state-owned higher institutions will be verified from Monday, August 4th to Friday 15th with all required documents.
