LEAP Africa has officially opened applications for the 2025 Social Innovators Programme (SIP), inviting young changemakers across Africa to apply. This initiative is designed for social entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35 who are already solving challenges in their communities and are ready to expand their impact.
Fellows are drawn from a variety of fields, including Agriculture, Technology, Climate Action, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Affordable and Clean Energy, and Workforce Development.
“This is not just another accelerator. It’s a launchpad for visionaries who are rewriting Africa’s story through purpose, innovation, and leadership,” LEAP Africa stated in a release.
The programme offers a powerful mix of mentorship, funding access, and practical training. Participants will receive one-on-one mentorship from top industry experts, tools to ensure enterprise sustainability, and visibility across Africa’s innovation network. They will also gain access to diversified capital that supports both profit and social impact goals.
“This is your moment,” LEAP Africa emphasized. “Past fellows have built award-winning startups, led government reforms, and impacted millions.”
The programme spans six weeks of intensive enterprise training and four months of mentorship. Social enterprises must be based in Africa to qualify, and applicants must be ready to scale and lead with boldness.
Qualified fellows will participate in 4 to 6 weeks of intensive virtual sessions, 4 months of mentorship, and converge physically at the end of the programme for the Awards ceremony.
Benefits
a. Enterprise Sustainability Workshop – Fellows will engage in modules and activities aimed at building the skills needed to run sustainable social enterprises.
b. Specialised Sessions – Based on organisational capacity assessments, fellows will receive tailored technical support in priority areas to strengthen their ventures.
c. Mentorship – Fellows will be paired with experienced professionals who will offer strategic guidance to support the growth and sustainability of their enterprises.
d. Social Innovators Programme and Awards (SIPA) – Fellows will be showcased to investors, policymakers, and other key stakeholders, with access to exclusive deal rooms. Outstanding fellows will be recognised and awarded during the SIPA event.
