The Ogun State Government, through its Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has announced the launch of the Gen AI Fellowship Programme, a six-month intensive initiative designed to equip young Nigerians with top-tier Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills. Sponsored by the Bosun Tijani Foundation, the fellowship aims to build the next generation of Nigeria’s AI leaders.
The programme, which is set to begin on July 21st, 2025, will offer selected participants hands-on training in advanced AI concepts. According to the organisers, the training will take place in Abeokuta, Ogun State, with all participants expected to attend in person five days a week for the duration of six months.
“This fellowship is not just about learning; it’s about building real-world solutions and creating access to opportunities that can change lives,” a spokesperson for the programme stated. “It’s your pathway to the world of AI and cutting-edge tech.”
The Gen AI Fellowship offers two specialised tracks, AI Engineering and AI Developer, allowing applicants to choose based on their individual career goals.
Selected fellows will receive a monthly stipend of N50,000, provided they maintain full attendance and demonstrate consistent learning progress. Additional benefits include:
