The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has denied a fake circular circulating online about its recruitment exercise. The Board clarified that the claim asking shortlisted candidates to select their preferred screening venue and date is false.
According to CDCFIB, the information that the screening will hold from Monday 12th to Friday 16th January 2026 across the States and FCT is not true. The misleading circular, which falsely claimed to be e-signed by AM Jibril, Maj Gen (Rtd), Secretary to the Board, had stated that shortlisted applicants should visit the Board’s official portal from Wednesday 6th to Friday 9th January 2026 to choose their screening venue and date.
The fake document read in part, “The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) wishes to inform the general public that plans are ongoing towards moving to the next stage of its recruitment exercise i.e physical screening/document verification.”
It further stated, “Accordingly, applicants who performed well have been shortlisted on merit and are advised to visit the Board’s official recruitment portal address at recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng from Wednesday 6th to Friday 9th January, 2026 to select their preferred screening venue and date.”
The Board has urged applicants and the public to disregard the false notice, stressing that any official communication regarding the next stage of the recruitment process will be made public in due time through the appropriate channels.
