According to the organisation, the appointment signals a new phase of leadership focused on expanding its impact across communities.

“COFFHA is delighted to announce that on Sunday, June 14, 2026, Mrs Augustine Igbokwe will be formally invested as the new President of the Committee of Friends for Humanity,” the statement read.

“This investiture marks a proud and historic milestone for the organisation, and COFFHA looks forward to the fresh vision, energy, and dedication she brings to this esteemed role.”

The organisation added that Mrs Igbokwe’s emergence reflects its commitment to compassionate and purposeful leadership.

“Her wealth of experience and deep passion for humanitarian service position her exceptionally well to guide the organisation into its next phase of growth and impact,” COFFHA stated.

As part of activities marking the transition, the humanitarian organisation also launched a fundraising drive to support the completion of its proposed Skill Acquisition Centre.

The centre is expected to serve as a practical training hub where beneficiaries will learn vocational and income-generating skills aimed at reducing poverty and unemployment.

Speaking on the initiative, Mrs Igbokwe called on individuals, corporate organisations, faith-based groups, and philanthropists to support the campaign to raise ₦300 million for the project.

“Once fully operational, the Centre will equip beneficiaries with marketable skills, foster self-reliance, and create pathways out of poverty for countless families,” she said.

“Every contribution, no matter the amount, is a direct investment in the lives of people who need it most. When communities come together, transformation follows.”

She encouraged interested donors and partners to obtain donation details and updates about the investiture ceremony through COFFHA’s official channels.

COFFHA is a non-profit humanitarian organisation focused on community development, empowerment, and education initiatives across Nigeria. Through several intervention programmes, the group says it remains committed to creating lasting social impact in underserved communities.
