The Ekiti State Government has raised alarm over a misleading and fraudulent message circulating on social media targeting applicants who participated in the recent TESCOM recruitment examination.
According to the government, the message falsely claims that candidates who scored 50 percent and above should urgently contact a “Youth President” through a provided telephone number.
In a statement, the government said the message did not originate from the Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) or any official arm of government. “The Ekiti State Government wishes to categorically state that this message did NOT emanate from the Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) or any official arm of government,” the statement read.
The government described the message as the handiwork of fraudsters attempting to exploit unsuspecting job applicants. It stressed that at no time did TESCOM authorize any individual or group to request that candidates contact anyone privately regarding recruitment matters.
“All official communications concerning recruitment exercises are conveyed strictly through verified government channels and recognized media platforms,” the statement added.
Applicants were strongly advised to ignore the fraudulent message and avoid contacting any random phone number or engaging with anyone claiming to offer help outside official procedures.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, merit-based and credible recruitment process, urging candidates to remain vigilant and report any suspicious communication to appropriate security agencies.
