The Ekiti State Government has officially scheduled the written examination for teaching and non-teaching positions in public secondary schools for Saturday, July 19, 2025. This announcement was made by the Permanent Secretary of the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Mr. Michael Boluwade, in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday.

He explained that the written test is the second phase of the ongoing recruitment exercise and will take place at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. It is specifically for candidates who successfully passed the earlier computer-based test (CBT) stage by meeting the required cut-off marks.

“All candidates are to be at the examination venue by 8:00 a.m. for accreditation,” Boluwade said.

He added that the pass mark has been set at 50 per cent for most subject areas and non-teaching roles, while Mathematics has a slightly lower benchmark of 40 per cent. Candidates who qualified through the CBT will receive further instructions via their registered email or the official recruitment portal.

“All candidates must come with a coloured printout of their registration form and their CBT result,” he noted. “Failure to meet this condition will result in disqualification from the written examination.”

Boluwade also warned that “impersonation or any form of examination malpractice will attract strict sanctions,” reinforcing the government’s zero-tolerance stance on unethical behaviour.

Only candidates with valid teaching qualifications such as NCE, B.Ed, B.Sc (Ed), B.A, B.Sc, B.Tech, or HND with a PGDE are eligible for this stage. The exam is a key part of the employment process for secondary school positions, which are crucial for enhancing public education and creating job opportunities in the state.
