The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has issued a public notice warning Nigerians about a fake recruitment message circulating online. According to the authority, the advertisement claims that Aviation Security personnel are being recruited through a link presented as coming from FAAN. The agency said this information is completely false.

In a statement signed by Henry Agbebire, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, FAAN explained that it is not conducting any AVSEC recruitment at the moment. The statement said, “We wish to categorically state that FAAN is not conducting any AVSEC recruitment at this time. The advertisement in circulation, including the link attached to it, is fake, misleading, and has no connection whatsoever with FAAN.”

FAAN advised the public to stay alert and avoid clicking unknown links or sharing personal details with unverified sources. The statement added, “The public is hereby advised to disregard the message and refrain from engaging with the link. Do not provide personal information to unknown sources, remain vigilant and report suspicious messages or links to the appropriate authorities.”

Nigeria Startup News obtained a copy of the viral recruitment message, and WhatsApp has already flagged the post with the label “Forwarded many times,” indicating rapid spread across groups.

The separate advertisement circulating online reads that Rokada Securities and Logistics Ltd is expanding its operations and is recruiting aviation security personnel for immediate deployment in Lagos and Abuja.

The message says the company is seeking disciplined, smart, and agile individuals who are passionate about safety and security. It lists basic requirements, including the ability to read and write clearly, openness to both male and female applicants, and physical and mental fitness. It adds that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further screening and interviews.
