President Tinubu has approved the creation of forest guards to protect Nigeria’s 1,129 forests. This move is part of a major security plan aimed at stopping terrorists and criminal gangs hiding in the forests.

The new forest guards will be trained, armed, and deployed across different states. The federal and state governments are working together on this recruitment to strengthen forest security.

The National Security Adviser (NSA) and the Ministry of Environment have been instructed to lead the process and ensure smooth implementation. This decision also opens up new federal government job opportunities in Nigeria, as thousands of young people will be hired for these roles.
