The Federal Government-backed Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) Programme has opened applications for its Skills Training to Jobs initiative in the North-Central geopolitical zone, offering young people free access to digital skills training and pathways to employment.
The initiative is implemented by Technology for Development (Tech4Dev) and is designed to equip participants with in-demand skills while connecting them to opportunities in the labour market.
According to the application announcement, the programme is open to young people living in Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger and Plateau states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Participants will receive training in digital skills, alongside employability support intended to prepare them for work. The programme also provides pathways designed to connect successful participants with real employment opportunities.
The organisers say the training is free. However, the announcement does not state that participants will receive a monthly stipend or cash allowance. Applicants should therefore not assume that the programme offers financial payments while training.
The initiative forms part of the wider iDICE programme, which seeks to strengthen Nigeria’s digital and creative sectors by developing talent and improving access to jobs and enterprise opportunities.
