The Federal Government, through the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), is set to launch the Renewed Hope FarmerMonie Northwest Media Sensitisation as part of the rollout of GEEP 3.0, in collaboration with the Kano State Government.

The event, scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Coronation Hall, Kano, is expected to bring together key stakeholders, media representatives, and programme implementers to deepen awareness of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) and its FarmerMonie component across the Northwest region.

GEEP, which includes TraderMoni, MarketMoni and FarmerMoni, is a flagship intervention under the Federal Government’s social investment framework aimed at providing collateral-free loans to micro and small-scale operators. The FarmerMonie scheme specifically targets smallholder farmers, with a focus on improving access to finance, boosting productivity, and strengthening rural livelihoods.

The sensitisation campaign is part of broader efforts under GEEP 3.0 to enhance transparency, expand beneficiary reach, and ensure better understanding of the programme’s structure, eligibility, and repayment processes. Officials say the renewed phase aligns with the current administration’s Renewed Hope agenda, which prioritises economic inclusion and grassroots empowerment.

A senior official involved in the programme noted that “the Northwest sensitisation is critical to ensuring that farmers and agribusiness operators fully understand how to access FarmerMonie under GEEP 3.0.”

He added that “this phase is not just about disbursement, but about accountability, sustainability, and making sure the right beneficiaries are reached.”

The collaboration with Kano State Government is expected to drive stronger state-level coordination and improve last-mile delivery of the scheme, particularly in rural communities where access to formal financing remains limited.

The media sensitisation will also serve as a platform to address past challenges associated with GEEP implementation, while outlining reforms introduced in the 3.0 phase to improve efficiency and monitoring.

With agriculture remaining a key pillar of Nigeria’s economy, stakeholders say the success of FarmerMonie under GEEP 3.0 could play a significant role in supporting smallholder farmers, enhancing food security, and stimulating local economic growth across the Northwest.
