The Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP) is a new initiative by the Federal Ministry of Youth Development (FMYD) to support youth farmers and agro-allied entrepreneurs in Nigeria. This government-backed youth empowerment program is designed to promote agricultural business growth and reduce youth unemployment through funding and training opportunities.
According to the Ministry, applications for YEIDEP will close on May 31, 2025. Young Nigerians interested in agribusiness, food processing, or agricultural startups are encouraged to apply before the deadline. This is a major opportunity for those looking to grow small businesses in the agriculture sector.
After the application period ends, from June 1 to June 8, 2025, the Ministry will collect beneficiary account details through YEIDEP’s partner banks. This step is important for proper fund allocation and financial inclusion of selected youth entrepreneurs.
From June 11 to June 30, 2025, the Ministry will begin preparations with the selected beneficiaries. This stage will focus on training, business planning, and how to access small business loans.
Funds disbursement for Batch A will take place from July 1 to July 31, 2025. The programme will cover key areas like livestock farming, food production, processing, packaging, warehousing, and distribution.
YEIDEP is a unique federal initiative focused on sustainable youth employment and agribusiness development.
