May 30, 2025 – Fidelity Bank has launched an inspiring new program, Read 2 Lead, aimed at empowering young individuals under the age of 17 to explore their creativity through reading and writing. This national initiative is designed to encourage literacy, boost personal development, and offer life-changing opportunities for students in Nigeria.

According to the organizers, Read 2 Lead is a multi-stage competition that promises not only recognition but also valuable rewards. “We wish to make a significant impact on their personal growth, as well as their future,” said a spokesperson from Fidelity Bank.

The competition begins with the National Writing Showdown, where thousands of students will submit creative entries. The top 150 writers will advance to a quality control test conducted at nearby branches to ensure authenticity. From there, the top 100 students will be selected.

Stage two, named the Sweeta Writing Mastery, challenges the shortlisted participants to read a designated book and write an alternate ending. This stage helps sharpen critical thinking and writing skills. Students will be required to write their pieces at nearby exam centers after collecting the assigned book from the closest Fidelity Bank branch.

The final stage, the Author’s Workshop, will bring together the top 30 young talents for an intensive three-day writing bootcamp in Lagos. Here, mentors and facilitators will guide them through practical workshops. The bank will provide accommodation and transportation for participants coming from outside Lagos.
