Ginger, a technology platform for beauty businesses, has partnered with FCMB SheVentures to launch “Built to Last,” a year-long initiative designed to strengthen women-led beauty enterprises across Nigeria, as the sector continues to show strong demand but faces structural growth limitations.

The programme is positioned to equip female entrepreneurs in the beauty and personal care industry with practical capabilities, improved business structures, and access to funding pathways required to scale and formalise their operations within an increasingly competitive market.

According to the organisers, participants will receive hands-on training, financial literacy support, and access to digital tools, alongside operational guidance covering inventory management, logistics optimisation, and supplier network development. The approach reflects a broader effort to address inefficiencies within Nigeria’s informal beauty economy, where many businesses operate without scalable systems.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ginger, Ejiro Enaohwo, said the partnership is focused on closing long-standing structural gaps that have constrained women-led ventures.

“The women powering the beauty economy already have the demand, the discipline, and the customer trust. What they have not always had are the systems that recognise their businesses as investable and scalable. This partnership is about building those systems,” she said.

FCMB SheVentures, a flagship initiative of FCMB, continues to expand its footprint in supporting female entrepreneurs through funding, mentorship, and enterprise development programmes. The bank noted that the new initiative aligns with its broader strategy to drive inclusive economic growth.

“At SheVentures, we believe empowering women entrepreneurs is one of the fastest ways to drive sustainable economic development. Through our initiatives, we have provided funding, training and mentorship to thousands of women-owned businesses across Nigeria. ‘Built to Last’ represents another step forward in equipping female entrepreneurs—particularly in the beauty sector—with the knowledge, capital readiness and networks they need to scale their businesses successfully,” the organisation stated.

Industry observers maintain that while women dominate Africa’s beauty market, businesses across the segment continue to face barriers including limited access to capital, inadequate business training, and weak formal structures, which restrict long-term scalability and investment readiness.

The “Built to Last” programme is expected to address these gaps by combining Ginger’s operational expertise across the beauty value chain with SheVentures’ financial and entrepreneurial support framework.

Applications are now open to beauty entrepreneurs nationwide, including salon owners, retailers, aestheticians, and early-stage startups, with a submission deadline of May 10, 2026.
