The Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, has suspended the ongoing recruitment process in the Local Government Service Commission. In an official statement, he said the action follows findings of gross misconduct and employment racketeering within the commission. “I have accepted the resignation of the Commission’s Chairman, Mr. Darlington Bassey Eyo,” the governor stated.
He ordered an immediate suspension of the compromised recruitment process to allow for a transparent and merit-driven review. Otu added that a special committee will investigate the matter and ensure appropriate disciplinary actions against those involved.
