Heirs Insurance Group, in partnership with United Capital Plc, has launched a new initiative aimed at promoting self-care and financial empowerment among Nigerian women, as both firms deepen efforts to connect wellness with long-term financial security.

The initiative, unveiled through a “Yoga and Money Meet Up” held on April 11 in Lagos, brought together women for a blended programme focused on physical wellbeing, stress management, and financial literacy.

According to a statement issued by Heirs Insurance Group on Monday, the event was designed to equip participants with practical tools for managing both personal wellness and wealth creation in an increasingly demanding economic environment.

Focus on wellness and financial literacy

The event featured guided yoga sessions and stress management exercises, alongside expert-led discussions on insurance, investments, and asset protection.

The organisers said the programme reflects a growing need to make financial wellness more relevant and accessible, particularly for women balancing multiple responsibilities across careers, entrepreneurship, and family life.

Chief Marketing Officer of Heirs Insurance Group, Mrs Ifesinachi Okoli-Okpagu, said the initiative was built on the recognition that financial security and personal wellbeing are closely linked.

She noted that self-care should not be viewed merely as leisure, but as a deliberate process of making choices that protect physical, mental, and financial health.

New insurance product unveiled

As part of the event, Heirs Insurance also introduced HerMotor, a motor insurance product tailored specifically for female motorists.

According to the company, the plan offers protection against accidents, fire and theft, while also providing 24/7 emergency roadside assistance through its partnership with AA Rescue.

The package further includes reward benefits that give users access to discounts on selected wellness services.

Expanding women-focused financial inclusion

Managing Director of United Capital Asset Management, Dr Odiri Oginni, said the collaboration aligns with both organisations’ shared objective of advancing women’s empowerment through practical financial solutions.

She added that the company’s Wealth for Women Fund was created to expand access to investment opportunities that support long-term financial stability for women.

The firms said the initiative forms part of their broader strategy to strengthen financial education, protection, and inclusion among Nigerian women.
