Hajiya Namadi also reminded the elderly of the value Islam places on caring for and honoring parents, drawing lessons from the Holy Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet (SAW).

The First Lady noted that the programme was inspired by the compassion and vision of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whose commitment to social welfare has continued to motivate similar initiatives nationwide. She added that the gesture reflects the administration’s belief that the true measure of a society lies in how it treats its most vulnerable members.

She appreciated the sacrifices and contributions of elderly citizens in building communities and raising future generations, describing their wisdom and resilience as vital to collective progress.

The event held Tuesday.

The disbursement represents the third phase of the elderly support programme in Jigawa State, reaffirming the government’s resolve to promote the welfare, dignity, and wellbeing of senior citizens.
