The Kano State Government is set to graduate and distribute empowerment packages to 2,260 beneficiaries trained across 26 entrepreneurship institutes in the state.
According to the notice released by the Steering Committee for the 26 Entrepreneurship Institutes, the graduation ceremony will be presided over by the Kano State Governor and will mark the official completion of training for beneficiaries enrolled under various skill development programmes.
Beneficiaries were trained in several institutes including Livestock Institute, Horticulture Institute, Poultry Institute, Development Journalism Institute, Fisheries Institute, Artisanal Fisheries Institute, Film Institute, Informatics Institute, and Driving Institute. The programmes were designed to equip participants with practical skills to support self-employment, entrepreneurship, and income generation.
According to the announcement, the empowerment packages to be distributed are expected to align with the specific skills acquired by the beneficiaries during their training period, with the aim of helping them transition into productive economic activities.
The event is scheduled to hold on Sunday, February 11, 2026, at 2:00pm (GMT+1) while the venue for the graduation and distribution exercise is the Open Arena, Government House, Kano.
The initiative forms part of the state government’s broader efforts to tackle unemployment, promote skills acquisition, and strengthen grassroots economic participation through structured vocational and entrepreneurship training programmes across different sectors of the economy.
