Lagos Business School (LBS), Pan-Atlantic University, has opened applications for the 2026 Business Idea Competition as part of the Babatunde Anjous Entrepreneurship Day. The competition is designed to attract innovative entrepreneurs with practical ideas capable of addressing one of Nigeria’s most pressing social challenges — the growing number of out-of-school children.
The initiative provides a platform for entrepreneurs, innovators, and problem-solvers to present scalable business solutions that can make measurable social impact while remaining commercially sustainable.
About the Competition
The Babatunde Anjous Entrepreneurship Day Business Idea Competition seeks creative and implementable business models that can help reduce the problem of out-of-school children in Nigeria.
Applicants are expected to submit business ideas that combine innovation, feasibility, and sustainability. Selected candidates will advance to the final stage, where they will pitch their ideas before a live audience during the entrepreneurship event.
The competition is aimed at encouraging solution-driven entrepreneurship that responds directly to national development challenges.
Prize Awards
Winning participants will receive cash prizes as follows:
- First Prize: ₦1,000,000
- Second Prize: ₦600,000
- Third Prize: ₦400,000
In addition to prize money, finalists will gain exposure before business leaders, academics, and entrepreneurship stakeholders.
Who Can Apply?
The competition is open to individuals with viable business ideas focused on solving the out-of-school children crisis in Nigeria. Applicants should be able to demonstrate how their proposed solution can create impact at scale.
Entrepreneurs with early-stage ideas, social innovators, and founders working on education-focused solutions are strongly encouraged to apply.
Submission Requirements
Applicants must submit a PowerPoint presentation with no more than eight slides.
Each submission should clearly include:
- Proposed solution
- Feasibility studies
- Business model
- Implementation plan
- Profitability analysis
- Sustainability structure
Entries that fail to meet the submission format may not be considered.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch their ideas physically at the event.
