N-Power beneficiaries are expected to appear at the National Industrial Court on Tuesday over the lingering issue of unpaid stipends owed to several batches of programme participants.
The planned court appearance follows months of growing complaints and legal actions by affected beneficiaries who have continued to demand the payment of outstanding allowances allegedly withheld for years.
A mobilisation message circulating among beneficiaries ahead of the court session urged participants across the country to be present at the Industrial Court nearest to them by 9am, describing the move as part of efforts to seek justice over unpaid stipends.
The latest development is connected to the ongoing legal case filed against the Federal Government over the non-payment of stipends to some N-Power beneficiaries.
Nigeria Startup News had earlier reported that the matter was before the National Industrial Court in Abuja after aggrieved beneficiaries dragged the Federal Government to court over outstanding payments and welfare-related issues linked to the scheme.
The case later gained wider attention after several groups of beneficiaries intensified calls for intervention, staged demonstrations, and accused authorities of neglecting participants who served under the programme.
In a more recent update, Nigeria Startup News reported that the court matter was adjourned to May 19, 2026, after proceedings at the National Industrial Court.
The report stated that the adjournment followed developments during the hearing as beneficiaries continued to push for the resolution of unpaid stipend claims.
Ahead of Tuesday’s hearing, reactions have continued to trail the mobilisation notice shared online by supporters and affected beneficiaries.
Many described the court appearance as an important step in the prolonged struggle over unpaid allowances, while others expressed hope that the matter would finally receive attention after years of complaints.
Some beneficiaries also called for peaceful conduct and unity among affected participants, insisting that the legal process should remain focused on securing payment of outstanding stipends and related entitlements.
The NPower programme was introduced by the Federal Government as part of its social investment and youth empowerment initiatives aimed at reducing unemployment and improving skills acquisition across Nigeria.
However, payment-related disputes involving some beneficiaries have remained a major issue in recent years, leading to repeated calls for intervention and legal action.
