The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has partnered with Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) to help Nigerian youths build high-income skills. This partnership is focused on shifting attention away from limited government jobs and helping young people find better-paying roles in the private sector.

At a recent meeting held at the NDE Headquarters in Abuja, the Director-General, H.E Silas Ali Agara, said, “Labour has no boundary.” He explained that the goal is to train Nigerian youths with digital and professional skills that are relevant globally. He added that government jobs are no longer as available as they used to be, and there’s a growing need to embrace opportunities in private industries.

Mrs. Funmi Ayeni, Country Director of IPA, also explained that her organisation is working on creating job-ready programs, using real data to guide young Nigerians into careers that will help grow the economy. The aim is to promote self-employment, tech jobs, and online work that can pay well.
