JAMB Denies Barring Matriculated Students From UTME, DE

0

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has expressed concern that some members of the public still claim that the board bars matriculated students from registering for or sitting for the UTME/DE, despite repeated clarifications.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Public Communication Advisor (PCA) of JAMB, Fabian Benjamin, described the claim as false and misleading today.

According to him, JAMB does not prohibit candidates who are already enrolled in tertiary institutions from registering for the UTME/DE application documents.

“What the Board requires, as clearly stated in the 2026 UTME/DE advertisement, is mandatory disclosure of any existing matriculation status at the point of registration,” Benjamin said.

He explained that the disclosure requirement is for record keeping and regulatory purposes, to prevent multiple admissions.

Benjamin noted that the policy means once a candidate secures admission through UTME/DE registration, any previous admission ceases, as the law does not allow two admissions at the same time.

He warned that failure to disclose an existing matriculation status amounts to an offence.

“Although the Board’s system can detect prior matriculation, any candidate found to have deliberately concealed such information risks forfeiting both opportunities,” he said.

He added that the board cautions the public against misleading interpretations spread by self-styled education advocates who distort official policies for personal gain.

“Candidates and parents are advised to rely only on official JAMB guidelines and publications,” Benjamin said.

Rivers State Prepares for RIV-CARES Phase Two, Signals Investment Readiness

0

Rivers State is set to begin Phase Two of the RIV-CARES programme, as disclosed by the Acting Auditor-General of the State, Dr. Yorkina Barisua, during the RIV-CARES Phase One Performance Review Retreat.

Barisua said the retreat was organised to review challenges, consolidate achievements, and strengthen accountability as the state prepares to move into the next phase of implementation.

“We are here to assess our challenges and weaknesses, appreciate our successes, audit the programme accounts, and ensure strict adherence to value-for-money principles,” she said.

The Rivers State Government also reassured Inter-Governmental Organisations (IGOs) of its commitment to sustaining a peaceful and secure environment that supports partnerships, investments, and inclusive development across the state.

The assurance was given by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Benibo Anabraba, while declaring the retreat open. He said collaboration with IGOs remains important to improving the welfare and living standards of people in Rivers State.

Dr. Anabraba noted that the state remains peaceful and open to partnerships that can accelerate economic growth and promote sustainable development.

“Rivers State is peaceful and open for partnerships and investments that will drive growth and development while simultaneously improving the welfare and living standards of our people,” he said.

He explained that one of the core responsibilities of government is to safeguard the welfare and wellbeing of citizens through effective legal and institutional frameworks that enable programmes with direct social impact, particularly for vulnerable groups.

“This responsibility underscores the need for collaboration, partnership, and support from critical stakeholders, including non-governmental organisations, individuals, corporate bodies, religious institutions, civil society groups, and citizens,” he added.

Dr. Anabraba described the Rivers Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (RIV-CARES) programme as an initiative designed to achieve this objective. He said the administration of Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, is driven by a vision of a greater Rivers State where every citizen enjoys the dividends of democracy through socio-economic projects.

According to him, this vision ensures that residents, regardless of social status, religion, or geographical location, benefit from development delivered in a safe, stable, and healthy environment.

The SSG also noted that while resilience in RIV-CARES is linked to human wellbeing, there is a need to build a resilient environment through the protection and preservation of biological diversity.

He said this would allow the environment to provide food and natural antibiotics against diseases, referencing the COVID-19 Pandemic that led to the initiation of RIV-CARES, which cannot be solved by financial interventions alone.

“This will also help with the mitigation and adaptation to environmental threats such as climate change and rising sea levels,” he said.

Dr. Anabraba commended the Office of the Auditor-General of the State and the State CARES Coordination Unit for organising the retreat to audit and assess implementation.

In his keynote address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Matters and Social Development and Chairman of the State CARES Steering Committee, Prof. Peter Medee, described the retreat as a platform for reflection on achievements, challenges, and strategies for achieving programme objectives.

The retreat was attended by the Commissioners for Agriculture, Women Affairs, Commerce and Industry, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, the Accountant-General of the State, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Finance, and stakeholders involved in RIV-CARES implementation statewide.

0

Katina State beneficiaries under the Family Homes Fund vocational skills training programme are set to receive starter packs after completing hands-on training designed to help them begin work immediately, following renewed assurances of support from state government.

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and skills development through a strategic partnership with the Family Homes Fund during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Fund at the Government House, Katsina, on Thursday.

The governor expressed appreciation to the Family Homes Fund and the Federal Government for including Katsina State in what he described as a timely initiative. He said youth empowerment remains a top priority of his administration, stressing that skills acquisition and job creation are central to addressing unemployment, poverty, and social challenges in the state.

“Our administration is fully committed to empowering our youths with practical skills that will make them self-reliant and productive members of society. Programmes like this align perfectly with our vision of building a skilled and empowered population,” Mr Radda said.

He assured the delegation of the state government’s readiness to provide support to ensure the success and sustainability of the programme, adding that Katsina State remains open to collaboration with the Family Homes Fund and other partners.

The governor noted that vocational skills training improves livelihoods and promotes social stability and economic growth across communities, particularly at the grassroots level where job opportunities are limited.

“When our youths are trained, equipped, and supported, they become agents of development. This partnership is a step in the right direction, and we look forward to expanding such interventions across the state,” he added.

Governor Radda thanked the delegation for the visit and reiterated the state’s commitment to working with federal agencies to improve the welfare and economic prospects of the people of Katsina State.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mrs Monsurat Muhammed, told the governor that the Family Homes Fund is ready to work closely with the Katsina State Government to train youths in masonry, electrical wiring, tiling, POP design, and painting.

She explained that the programme is structured to provide hands-on, market-relevant skills that will enable beneficiaries to become self-reliant and productive within their communities.

“Upon successful completion of the training, all graduands will receive starter packs to enable them commence work immediately. Beneficiaries will also be enrolled into the Family Homes Fund database for future engagement and deployment in their respective areas of specialisation,” Mrs Muhammed stated.

She commended the Katsina State Government for its support and cooperation, noting that the conducive environment provided by the state has contributed to the smooth implementation of the programme.

Those present at the meeting included the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Hon Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; the Commissioner for Higher and Vocational Education, Adnan Nahabu; the Commissioner for Lands and Physical Planning, Hon Faisal Kaita, as well as representatives of the Family Homes Fund.

NOAN trains 300 farmers on organic seed production, PGS certification

0

The Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria (NOAN) has commenced training on organic seed production and certification for 300 farmers drawn from different states across the country.

The training was announced by the President of NOAN, Prof. Jude Obi, at the opening ceremony of the programme on seed production and Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) certification in an organic system, held in Abuja.

According to Obi, the initiative is designed to train 100 farmers in each of three selected locations, namely Abuja, Ibadan and Aba, to ensure regional balance and wider participation.

He explained that the Abuja training would cater to participants from the northern part of the country, while the Ibadan centre would host farmers from the South-West. The Aba location, he said, would serve participants from the South-East and South-South regions.

The two-day Abuja training brought together farmers, seed producers, extension agents and other actors along the organic agriculture value chain from various northern states.

Speaking on the benefits of organic agriculture, Obi said the practice promotes healthier food consumption, protects the environment and enhances the shelf life of agricultural produce.

He said, “We produce and eat food that is healthier. When organic agriculture is practised, the environment and soil are sustained.

“More importantly, the produce of organic agriculture has longer shelf life and is more nutritious.”

Obi noted that smallholder farmers in Nigeria continue to face serious challenges such as declining soil fertility, rising costs of synthetic farm inputs, climate variability and increasing pressure on ecosystems.

He said despite these challenges, smallholder farmers remain the backbone of Nigeria’s food systems and the custodians of agricultural biodiversity.

“At NOAN, we firmly believe that agroecology and organic agriculture offer practical, locally adapted, and sustainable solutions to these challenges.

“Central to this transition is seed: seed that is locally adapted, farmer-managed, organically produced, and supported by systems that guarantee quality, integrity, and trust,” he said.

Obi, who is a lecturer at the University of Uyo, explained that participants would receive practical and theoretical training covering varietal selection, seed multiplication, quality control, storage, traceability, organic standards and the Participatory Guarantee System.

He described PGS as a credible, inclusive and community-based certification approach that helps build trust among farmers and consumers of organic products.

On the expected outcomes of the programme, Obi said the training would strengthen food security, improve farmer incomes, increase consumer confidence in organic products and stimulate organic value chains.

He added that the initiative would also support related sectors, including organic poultry and livestock production, which depend heavily on quality seed and feed inputs.

“Ultimately, this training is a catalyst for scaling agroecology as both a practice and a movement,” he said.

In his remarks, the Director General of the National Agricultural Seeds Council (NASC), Muhammad Fatuhu, commended NOAN for organising the training and described it as timely.

Fatuhu, who was represented by Mrs. Esther Mahdi, expressed optimism that the programme would significantly improve the availability of quality and improved seeds in Nigeria.

She said the initiative would also contribute to better livelihoods for seed producers across the country.

She assured participants that NASC would continue to intensify efforts to promote the availability, accessibility and affordability of quality seeds in Nigeria.

The NASC Director General further urged participants to make effective use of the opportunity, noting that they would be guided through the technical processes involved in quality seed production and certification.

Also speaking at the event, the Director of Farm Input Support Services at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Abana Waziri Abba, said the training was very important to Nigerian farmers.

He noted that the focus of the Federal Government has shifted towards achieving food and nutritional security nationwide.

Abba stressed the need for farmers to adopt both organic and inorganic agricultural practices to attain food sovereignty in the country.

He added that the Federal Government has continued to provide a 50 per cent subsidy on farm inputs as part of measures to boost food production.

NOAN is a non-governmental organisation established as an umbrella body for stakeholders involved in organic agriculture in Nigeria.

Its membership includes farmers, scientists, processors, exporters, individuals, institutions, non-governmental organisations and other key players in the organic agriculture sector.

The association also serves as a link between organic agriculture stakeholders in Nigeria and international bodies with interest in organic agriculture.

NNPC Unveils Gas Master Plan 2026 to Drive Nigeria’s Gas-Led Growth

0

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has officially unveiled its Gas Master Plan 2026, tagged NGMP 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to reposition Nigeria’s gas sector as a key driver of industrialisation, energy security, and sustainable economic growth.

The unveiling took place at the NNPC Towers in Abuja on Friday, 30 January 2026, and marked a strategic turning point in Nigeria’s energy transition journey. The event highlighted the Federal Government’s resolve to convert the country’s vast gas resources into real economic value, expanded infrastructure, and stronger global competitiveness in line with long-term development goals.

Speaking at the event, the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, described the Gas Master Plan as a clear move from policy formulation to disciplined execution, with strong emphasis on commercial viability and integrated coordination across the gas sector.

“Today’s launch is not merely the unveiling of a document; it represents a deliberate shift towards a more integrated, commercially driven, and execution-focused gas sector, aligned with Nigeria’s development aspirations. Nigeria is fundamentally a gas Nation. With one of the largest proven gas reserves in Africa, our challenge has never been potential, but translation: translating resources into reliable supply, infrastructure into value, and policy into measurable outcomes for our economy and our people. The Gas Master Plan speaks directly to this challenge,” Ekpo said.

He further noted that the Plan’s focus on supply reliability, infrastructure expansion, flexibility for domestic and export markets, and strategic partnerships aligns closely with the Federal Government’s Decade of Gas Initiative. According to him, this positions natural gas as the backbone of Nigeria’s energy security, industrial growth, and just energy transition.

In his address, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, described the NNPC Gas Master Plan 2026 as a bold, execution-focused roadmap designed to unlock Nigeria’s gas potential and elevate the country into a globally competitive gas hub.

Ojulari stated that Nigeria currently holds about 210 trillion cubic feet of proven gas reserves, with an upside potential of up to 600 trillion cubic feet. He said this places Nigeria among the most significant hydrocarbon basins in the world, supported by the Petroleum Industry Act and the Federal Government’s gas-led energy transition agenda.

“The Plan is structured not just to deliver, but to exceed, the Presidential mandate of increasing national gas production to 10 billion cubic feet per day by 2027 and 12 billion cubic feet per day by 2030, while catalysing over 60 billion dollars in new investments across the oil and gas value chain by 2030,” he said.

He explained that the Plan prioritises cost optimisation, operational excellence, and the systematic advancement of gas resources from 3P to bankable 2P reserves. He added that it also strengthens gas supply to power generation, compressed natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, Mini-LNG, and key industrial off-takers critical to economic growth.

Reaffirming his personal commitment as Chief Sponsor of the initiative, the NNPC Ltd GCEO said the company adopted a more collaborative and investor-focused approach in shaping NGMP 2026. According to him, the Plan was developed with strong alignment to industry stakeholders, partners, and investors to ensure effective execution.

In a goodwill message, the Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Producers’ Group (IPPG) and Chief Executive Officer of Aradel Holdings, Mr. Adegbite Falade, said the Plan would give the economy a major boost.

“This is giving a shot in the arm to the economy which will bridge the gap between intent and reality. Gas thrives on value chain, from upstream to offtakers. As IPPG members, we reiterate our commitment and support to this initiative,” Falade said.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) and Managing Director of TotalEnergies Upstream Companies in Nigeria, Matthieu Bouyer, thanked NNPC Ltd for the ambition behind the Gas Master Plan. He said his organisation supports the core operating principles of the Plan and its long-term objectives.

The Gas Master Plan 2026 is expected to serve as the main framework for coordinated gas sector development, execution discipline, and value creation over the next decade. It builds on the Nigerian Gas Master Plan of 2008, which was designed to maximise economic benefits from Nigeria’s gas resources, and places strong emphasis on alignment with the Nigerian Decade of Gas Programme.

Lagos graduates beneficiaries of digital business and Android phone empowerment programme

The Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) has graduated beneficiaries of a Three-Day Digital Business Skills and Android Phone Empowerment Programme at the Women Development Centre, Agege, on Thursday, 29 January 2026.

The programme was designed to equip market women, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), young adults and artisans with digital and entrepreneurial skills needed to operate in a technology-driven business environment and improve their income-generating capacity.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Bolaji Cecilia Dada, described the programme as a strategic intervention focused on economic inclusion, self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods. She disclosed that more than 1,100 Lagos residents have benefitted from the digital empowerment initiative so far.

According to her, as businesses increasingly rely on digital platforms, entrepreneurship must be supported with digital competence. She explained that participants received training in digital marketing, online visibility and customer engagement, and were also supported with brand new Android smartphones as practical business tools to help scale their enterprises.

The Commissioner added that the initiative aligns with the THEMES Plus Agenda of the Lagos State Government, particularly in Education and Technology, Social Inclusion, Economic Diversification and the development of a 21st Century Economy.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Women Affairs, Hon. Omolara Oyekan-Olumegbon, advised beneficiaries to adopt safe, ethical and professional business practices. She stressed the importance of confirming payments before releasing goods, posting business content consistently on digital platforms, and keeping the Android phones as essential business tools rather than selling them.

She further urged participants, especially service providers, to be security conscious, share their movements with family members and people around them, and take personal safety seriously while carrying out business activities.

The training sessions were facilitated by Mr. Folu Abisayo and Mr. Kelvin Onyenankie of Liquidluck Consulting. They delivered practical sessions covering Digital Foundations and Customer Relations, understanding markets and competitors, WhatsApp Business and customer etiquette, financial management and secure payment systems, sales, advertising and logistics, brand protection, crisis management and online reputation management.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Rianat Ajibike Onigbanjo, appreciated the support of the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. She also commended the Honourable Commissioner, facilitators and departmental teams for the successful delivery of the programme.

Some beneficiaries shared their experiences at the event. Bukola Olorundo, a professional carpenter, said the training broadened her understanding of business operations and customer satisfaction.

Another participant, Abdulkareem Oyewunmi, a baker, noted that she learned how to promote her products online effectively, having previously lacked social media marketing skills.

Highlights of the event included the presentation of brand new Android smartphones and certificates of completion, interactive sessions and group photographs. The Ministry reiterated its commitment to implementing empowerment programmes that promote economic self-reliance and improve the livelihoods of residents across Lagos State.

Officials said the initiative will continue across communities to reach more women and youths statewide.

FG Says CCT Reaches 8.3m Households, Targets 15m Nationwide

The Federal Government has disclosed that its flagship Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme has reached over 8.3 million households, directly supporting more than 35 million Nigerians, with plans to expand coverage to 15 million households nationwide in the medium term. The disclosure was made by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Bernard Doro, during the maiden edition of the National Council on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction held in Calabar, Cross River State, from January 27 to 29, 2026.

Doro said the cash transfer scheme, anchored on the National Social Register, remains the backbone of Nigeria’s social protection system and a key tool for cushioning vulnerable households against poverty while creating pathways to economic stability and self reliance. He explained that the programme focuses on supporting poor and vulnerable families with direct cash support to help meet basic needs and reduce financial pressure.

According to the Minister, the expansion target reflects the Federal Government’s renewed commitment to lifting millions of Nigerians out of multidimensional poverty through coordinated, data driven and people centred interventions. He said the government is determined to strengthen social protection systems in line with current economic realities and emerging humanitarian challenges.

The Minister spoke while delivering the keynote address at the Council’s maiden session themed Beyond the National Strengthening Subnationals and Multi Stakeholder Synergy for a Unified Approach to Humanitarian Response and Poverty Reduction. He noted that the theme reflects the urgent need for stronger cooperation among all levels of government and partners.

Doro explained that Nigeria’s humanitarian and poverty challenges, worsened by insecurity, climate shocks, displacement, rapid urbanisation and fiscal pressures, can no longer be addressed through fragmented efforts. He stressed the importance of a unified national framework that brings together federal, state and non state actors.

“The Conditional Cash Transfer programme, anchored on the National Social Register, has reached over 8.3 million households, supporting more than 35 million Nigerians. Our medium term ambition is to reach 15 million households nationwide,” Doro stated.

He added that the creation of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction in 2019 was a strategic response to the rising scale and complexity of humanitarian crises, poverty and social vulnerability across the country. According to him, the Ministry was established to provide better coordination and leadership in addressing these issues.

The Minister noted that through its agencies, including the National Social Investment Programme Agency, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, the National Senior Citizens Centre and the SDGs Office, the Ministry has delivered life saving and recovery interventions to millions of Nigerians.

Doro described the newly inaugurated National Council on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction as the institutional vehicle for implementing the Ministry’s vision of One Humanitarian, One Poverty Reduction System. He said the Council would harmonise interventions, eliminate duplication, align financing and integrate humanitarian response with poverty reduction, disaster risk reduction and long term development planning.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of the Council in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda and thanked the government and people of Cross River State for hosting the maiden session.

In his remarks, the Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, welcomed participants to Calabar and praised the Federal Government for prioritising humanitarian governance and poverty reduction. He highlighted the state’s humanitarian burden, including internally displaced persons, about 50,000 Cameroonian refugees, recurrent flooding, erosion and livelihood challenges in rural communities.

Governor Otu called for stronger federal and international collaboration to address these challenges and announced that Cross River State would continue to host future editions of the Council.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Forum of State Commissioners for Humanitarian Affairs and Cross River State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Hon Dr Helen Isamoh Egodo, said the Council provides a critical bridge between national policy formulation and grassroots implementation. She stressed that with effective coordination, strengthened data systems such as the National Social Register and sustained funding, Nigeria could significantly reduce poverty and humanitarian vulnerability across states.

The maiden Council ended with a collective commitment by federal and state actors, development partners and civil society organisations to deepen collaboration and accelerate the delivery of social protection programmes aimed at ensuring that no Nigerian is left behind.

Rivers State Unveils Renewed Hope LGA Ambassadors

0

Rivers State has inaugurated the Local Government Area LGA Ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Family as part of the broader Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP) under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across the state. The inauguration brought together members of the group drawn from the 23 LGAs and marked a new phase in political mobilisation within the state ahead of future elections.

The event took place in Port Harcourt and was attended by political leaders, party members, and supporters of the Renewed Hope movement.

The programme was held without the presence of the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, who declined to attend the event despite the gathering of stakeholders from across the state. Organisers said the absence of the governor did not affect the objective of the event, which was to formally inaugurate coordinators at senatorial and local government levels to strengthen grassroots engagement and support for President Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking at the event on Friday, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike, warned that he and his supporters would forcibly enter the Yakubu Gowon Stadium for their next rally if the Rivers State Government continued to deny them access to the facility. He declared that “heaven will not fall” even if the stadium was damaged in the process. Wike issued the warning during the inauguration of senatorial and local government coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, an event organised in support of President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike said his group had formally applied to the state government for the use of the Yakubu Gowon Stadium but was denied access, describing the action as unprecedented in the state’s political history. “We applied to the state government to use the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, and they refused. Next time, if we apply and they refuse again, we will break it, and nothing will happen,” Wike said. He added that denying access to public facilities would not stop political activities.

He boasted that Rivers State was setting the pace in political mobilisation and insisted that the state would continue to lead others in openly demonstrating support for President Tinubu. “I know after today, other states may inaugurate their own structures, but Rivers State will always lead the way. Support is not by mouth; we have shown commitment with action,” he added while addressing supporters at the event.

Wike declared that political activities ahead of future elections had officially commenced, noting that ward level inaugurations would soon follow. “I told you that by January, we would start playing politics. This is January, and we have started. If you don’t give us the venue, we will break it,” he reiterated. He also questioned the commitment of the Rivers State Government to supporting President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

“You cannot have a governor in the state while we are openly declaring support for President Tinubu, and you are not aligning. How then do you expect a reward?” Wike asked. According to him, political reward is tied to commitment and loyalty, not financial contribution. “You don’t need N600 billion. All you need is commitment. That is what brings reward, even if it brings envy,” he said.

Wike further disclosed that the rally was a coalition effort and thanked President Tinubu for supporting the Ijaw coalition in producing candidates for the February 21 by elections in Khana Constituency II and Ahoada West Constituency II. “I told you January is when politics will start. By February 21, go out and vote. We give out the buses and ensure proper mobilisation for the Renewed Hope agenda,” he urged supporters.

Also speaking at the event, Senator George Sekibo assured President Tinubu of Rivers State’s continued support and thanked him for appointments and projects. “No President has embarked on projects of this magnitude while also appointing Rivers indigenes. Tell the President we are grateful,” Sekibo said. Speaking on behalf of the National Assembly caucus, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Okey Chinda, reaffirmed support for Tinubu and endorsed his re election bid in 2027.

“What we did in 2023 will be better in 2027. Politics is give and take,” Chinda said, adding that political developments in Rivers State were unprecedented in Nigeria.

The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaehula, and the All Progressives Congress State Chairman, Tony Okocha, also pledged support for Tinubu. Former state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Felix Obuah, pledged support for President Tinubu, while APC Chairman in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, assured that the party was fully mobilised ahead of the 2027 elections. The coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in the state include Felix Obuah, Boma Iyaye and Marcus Nleji. At the event, brand new buses were handed over to the group to support mobilisation activities.
