CDCFIB CBT Exam Stops Showing Results After Submission

22

Reports from today’s CDCFIB CBT exam show that results are no longer displaying immediately after submission. Candidates confirmed that the result score page, which appeared during earlier sessions, has now been removed. According to updates shared during the exam process, “CDCFIB result is no longer displaying after submission, if you experience that you don’t need to worry yourself, it’s like they have decided to revoke the score board.”

If you have not seen your result, you are not alone.

Many candidates who completed the CDCFIB2025 test noticed that once they submitted, the screen simply ended without showing any result. One candidate stated, “I don’t know why? The question is; why did they change it?”

However, applicants who took the online exam this Thursday and did not see their results are not to panic. As long as you are sure you completed your exam successfully, everything is fine, and the result will be available later.

While this could be a system glitch, others it might also be a development by the recruitment team to reduce reactions that followed yesterday’s CBT exams. At this time, the CDCFIB has not issued any official statement.

MTN Launches Youth Activation Event at Bayero University Kano

0

MTN Nigeria has launched a three-day youth activation event at Bayero University, Kano, as part of its wider campus engagement programme aimed at empowering young Nigerians and strengthening its relationship with students across the country. The initiative focuses on youth empowerment, digital inclusion, small-scale entrepreneurship, and entertainment, aligning with MTN’s broader strategy to support young people through technology and improved connectivity.

Speaking during the activation, Femi Adesina, MTN Nigeria’s Youth Segment Manager, described the programme as a strategic investment in the creativity and potential of the country’s youth demographic. He said the company sees young Nigerians as partners in development and not just consumers of telecom services. “As an organisation, we believe so strongly in the Nigerian youth. We are not just their partners or mentors; we are their fellows. Our mission is to empower for them to be themselves,” he stated.

Adesina explained that MTN recently introduced MTN Ops, a youth-focused proposition featuring affordable voice and data plans targeted at students and young entrepreneurs. According to him, the plan includes discounted bundles, with data as low as ₦300 for 1GB and special night plans ranging from ₦75 to ₦700 to support students who rely on late-night hours for academic research, online learning, or creative work. He said the company understands that most young people operate within tertiary institutions, a reality that informed MTN’s decision to take its engagement directly to universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across Nigeria.

As part of its commitment to encouraging student entrepreneurship, MTN offered business visibility opportunities to young people running small ventures. “In Kano, we are giving ten students the opportunity to showcase their small-scale businesses — from food and snacks to fashion and digital services. We want to move from being a brand that talks to being a brand that does,” he added. He noted that empowering young business owners on campus contributes to job creation and helps students build income streams alongside their studies.

The event also featured entertainment activities designed to help students reduce stress associated with academics. MTN provided an on-campus cinema experience, complete with popcorn and drinks, as well as a live concert featuring celebrity performers. Adesina said the blend of relaxation and engagement was intentional. “We understand that education comes with pressure, so we want students to balance academics with social life. This engagement allows them to unwind while still connecting with our brand,” he said.

To increase participation, MTN offered prizes including laptops, tablets, home appliances, and a brand-new car worth ₦35 million as the grand prize. Adesina said these rewards reflect the company’s commitment to improving youth welfare and supporting digital inclusion nationwide. “This is part of our test of commitment to Nigerian youths. We see them, believe in them, trust them, and want to be part of their growth journey,” he stated.

MTN’s youth activation also included collaborations with TECNO, LG, and MoMo, its fintech subsidiary. TECNO provided discounted device-financing plans that allow students to pay for smartphones and gadgets over six to twelve months. LG supported the programme with electronic appliances such as televisions, air conditioners, and microwaves for selected winners. MoMo offered mobile financial solutions and special packages designed for students who rely on digital payments.

“These partnerships are designed to make life easier for students and to provide long-term value beyond this event,” Adesina explained. He said partnerships with technology and electronics brands help students access tools that support learning, online business, and digital creativity.

According to him, MTN’s campus engagement initiative began in 2019 but was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. It resumed in 2022 and has since been held across several universities in Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, including the University of Benin, Federal University of Technology Owerri, and the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. Although he did not disclose the financial investment involved, Adesina said the company has committed significant resources to the programme. He stressed that “no amount is too much to build a well-rounded Nigerian youth.”

He also highlighted MTN’s broader youth empowerment portfolio, which includes scholarships for women, students studying science and technology courses, and persons with disabilities. He said MTN works closely with school authorities such as vice-chancellors, registrars, and student unions to ensure effective engagement. “We engage with school managements — the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, student unions — because we see them as stakeholders in our vision of inclusion and digital growth,” he noted.

Adesina said the ongoing campus initiative aligns with MTN’s long-term ambition of promoting digital inclusion, supporting youth development, and building a future where students have both connectivity and opportunities to succeed. “We want young Nigerians to remember MTN as a brand that is doing, not just talking — a brand that will continue to support them with better networks, opportunities, and experiences,” he said.

FG to build 4,000 telecom towers to connect 20 Million Nigerians

0

The Federal Government has announced plans to build 4,000 new telecommunication towers across the country, targeting over 20 million Nigerians who currently lack access to mobile networks. The disclosure was made in Abuja by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, during the Digital Nigeria International Conference 2025.

Tijani said the rollout is part of a World Bank-backed broadband expansion programme designed to deliver 90,000 kilometres of open-access fibre network, which he described as the largest infrastructure initiative of its kind in any developing country. He explained that the project, already captured in the National Assembly’s borrowing plan, reflects the administration’s commitment to a digitally inclusive economy that supports underserved communities and strengthens nationwide connectivity.

According to him, Nigeria’s digital economy continues to grow at a fast pace, with the ICT sector now contributing about 19 per cent to the national GDP. Tijani noted that this growth trajectory could soon place the sector ahead of oil and gas, driven by rising investment, digital transformation and technology adoption.

He added that Nigeria’s tech ecosystem has become one of the strongest in Africa, producing five of the continent’s nine technology unicorns. He linked this achievement to sustained government reforms and the innovative push of private sector players.

Earlier, the Director-General of NITDA, Dr Kashifu Abdullahi, praised the government’s focus on innovation and digital inclusion. He said the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda prioritises economic diversification and youth empowerment nationwide.

Federal Government removes 15% import duty on fuel

0

The Federal Government has officially withdrawn the recently announced 15 per cent import duty on petroleum products, easing public concerns over a possible increase in fuel prices. The clarification came on Thursday through a statement issued by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, signed by George Ene-Ita, Director of the Public Affairs department.

The announcement followed anxiety among consumers after President Bola Tinubu earlier approved the ad-valorem tax on Premium Motor Spirit and Diesel. The NMDPRA, however, confirmed that the levy will no longer be implemented, urging Nigerians to avoid panic buying, hoarding or price speculation.

The statement reads, “The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) wishes to assure the general public that there is an adequate supply of petroleum products in the country, within the acceptable national sufficiency threshold during this peak demand period.”

The Authority explained that there is a stable domestic supply of petroleum products, including AGO, PMS and LPG, sourced from both local refineries and importation. It stated that ongoing replenishment of stocks at depots and retail stations will continue to support the country’s energy demand.

The statement added, “The Authority wishes to use this opportunity to advise against any hoarding, panic buying or non-market reflective escalation of prices of petroleum products. It should also be noted that the implementation of the 15% ad-valorem import duty on imported Premium Motor Spirit and Diesel is no longer in view.”

NMDPRA further stated that it will keep monitoring the supply situation to ensure there is no disruption across the distribution chain during the high-demand period.

While acknowledging the role of stakeholders in maintaining steady fuel distribution, the Authority assured Nigerians of its commitment to safeguarding energy security and sustaining a reliable supply system nationwide.

Gov Bago calls for recruitment of 25,000 Niger residents to tackle insecurity

0

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has appealed for the recruitment of 25,000 residents to support security operations across communities affected by rising insecurity. The governor made this call in Minna while hosting the Theatre Commander of the Joint Taskforce North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, Maj. Gen. Warrah Idris, and his team during a courtesy visit. The governor said the state needs stronger military presence and effective security strategies to curb criminal activities coming from neighbouring states.

He stressed the need for the establishment of Forward Operating Bases to block key routes used by miscreants. According to him, these bases are required in Mailaka and Kurege in the Mariga local government area. He explained that the state is ready to support the military with manpower, saying, “We are willing as a state to help you to recruit 25,000 youths to go after these people.” The governor also highlighted the importance of national security investment and community safety in the fight against banditry.

Governor Bago raised concerns about neglected assets in Kainji Lake National Park and other locations in Borgu Local Government, noting that these areas have become safe havens for bandits. He expressed confidence that Operation Fansan Yamma will address the insecurity challenges and restore peace. He acknowledged the efforts of the military and security agencies but appealed for additional equipment and air components due to the size of the state. He also mentioned ongoing non-kinetic measures adopted by his administration to support long-term peace and development.

Maj. Gen. Warrah Idris explained that sectors 1, 2, and 3 are under his command, with one covering parts of Niger State. He said his visit was to familiarise himself with the terrain, assess security situations, and boost the morale of troops. According to him, the mandate from the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Defence Staff, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is to ensure the safety of citizens. He stated, “We are here to ensure that the task given is executed to the last limit. We are here to ensure that we eradicate banditry, terrorism, and other acts of crime.”

The theatre commander added that assessments have been completed, and maps for necessary security actions will be released soon. He confirmed ongoing operations in Kainji Lake National Park, Babana, and other areas in Borgu to weaken criminal groups. Operation Fansan Yamma remains a key joint military initiative of the federal government aimed at tackling insecurity across the North-West and parts of the North-Central region.

NMDPRA tells Nigerians to avoid panic buying of petroleum products

NMDPRA has released a new update urging Nigerians to remain calm and avoid panic buying of petroleum products. In a press statement, the Authority assured the public that there is adequate supply of products across the country, even as demand increases. According to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, there is a robust domestic supply of AGO, PMS and LPG sourced from both local refineries and importation, which allows for timely replenishment of stocks at depots and retail stations.

The Authority stated that there is no need for hoarding or panic buying, stressing that any non-market reflective escalation of fuel prices is unnecessary. It added that the implementation of the 15 percent ad-valorem import duty on imported Premium Motor Spirit and Diesel is no longer in view, a development expected to support market stability. This update comes at a time when fuel supply and energy security remain key national concerns, especially during the peak demand period.

NMDPRA explained that it will continue to monitor the supply situation closely and apply regulatory measures to prevent any disruption in the distribution of petroleum products nationwide. The Authority also acknowledged the efforts of stakeholders across the midstream and downstream value chain for maintaining smooth operations. It further assured Nigerians of its ongoing commitment to safeguarding energy security and ensuring steady access to essential petroleum products. The statement was signed by George Ene-Ita, Director of the Public Affairs Department, NMDPRA.

Alausa explains why English remains Nigeria’s school instruction language

0

Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has explained why the Federal Government decided to suspend the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council’s language policy and maintain English as the medium of instruction across all schools. Speaking at the Language in Education International Conference in Abuja, he said the decision was backed by fifteen years of empirical evidence showing that the mother-tongue-based model had not improved learning outcomes.

Dr. Alausa, who addressed the event alongside the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Said, noted that the policy proved impractical in a country with more than five hundred indigenous languages. He stated that the lack of learning materials, inadequate teacher preparation, and weak transitions to English affected students’ performance nationwide. According to him, “In practice, it has proven impractical and inequitable in a country with over 500 indigenous languages,” stressing that the system created gaps that hindered learning quality.

He explained that keeping English as the primary instructional language would strengthen learning outcomes, ensure continuity across states, and align Nigeria’s education structure with global best practices. He added that the government’s new Inclusive Language Policy would still promote learning at least one Nigerian language to preserve cultural identity and support inclusion.

Donna McGowan, Country Director, Business and Trade Division, British Council United Kingdom, also underscored the importance of accessible language in education. She said, “Language should be a bridge to learning and not a barrier to our systems,” capturing the essence of the government’s reform direction.

Dr. Alausa stated that the focus is on building a stronger, fairer, and more inclusive education system. He emphasized that the reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aim to deliver quality, inclusive, and globally competitive education. According to him, the priority is doing what is right for current learners and future generations by ensuring a clear and effective instructional framework for all Nigerian students.
