Nigeria Customs Cares Initiative is Based on 6 CSR Pillars, Others

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) officially launched its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Unit to support national development through a new program called Customs Cares.

Here are 6 key things to take away from this initiative.

1. According to the NCS, this initiative aligns with Nigeria’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will focus on six CSR Pillars, including:

  3. Environmental sustainability
  4. Food security
  5. Creative economy
  6. National development

2. “The CSR Unit is a strategic move to uplift communities and build trust,” said an NCS spokesperson. Through this initiative, the Service will lead efforts in school renovations, activation of mobile clinics, food and medical outreach, agricultural support, youth empowerment, and skill acquisition.

3. The Service noted that it is fully committed to working with NGOs, government agencies, private organisations, and local communities. “We understand the value of partnership in making sustainable impact,” the spokesperson added.

4. The NCS plans to improve community welfare and strengthen its relationship with the public, while complementing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

5. “As the program unfolds, we are committed to expanding our reach and deepening our impact,” the NCS stated.

6. Nigeria Customs Cares initiative is expected to make a long-term difference in lives across Nigeria with high-impact areas like youth empowerment, skills development, and agricultural support.
