May 19, 2025 — In a strong move to support President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, the Owena-Benin River Basin Authority has partnered with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE). Dr. Adekanbi Femi, the MD/CEO, said this partnership will help reduce unemployment and empower Nigerian youths with practical skills. “We want to turn job seekers into job creators,” he said.
The plan includes offering vocational training, providing start-up packs with soft loan options, and boosting social security. The Director General of NDE, H.E. Silas Ali Agara, encouraged young people to take part, adding that they will get stipends during training.
