The Police Service Commission (PSC) has fixed April 28 to April 30, 2026, for the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for candidates participating in the ongoing Nigeria Police Force recruitment exercise.
The examination will take place across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory after the conclusion of the nationwide physical and credentials screening scheduled to end on April 18.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Sokoto State Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Rufa’i, who described the aptitude test as a major stage in the recruitment process.
According to him, the CBAT is intended to assess the competence of applicants and ensure that only qualified candidates proceed in the exercise.
“The Computer-Based Aptitude Test is a critical phase designed to ensure that only suitably qualified candidates are recruited into the Nigeria Police Force,” Rufa’i stated.
He explained that the duration of the examination in each state will vary depending on the number of candidates shortlisted and the capacity of available CBT centres.
While some states may conclude the test within a single day, others may require the full three-day period to accommodate all applicants.
“The scheduling is flexible to accommodate operational realities across states, but every eligible candidate will be given a fair opportunity to participate,” he added.
Candidates asked to await official communication
The police authorities advised applicants to remain patient pending the release of venue details and the official shortlist of successful candidates eligible for the test.
Rufa’i urged candidates to depend solely on verified police communication channels for updates, warning against false information circulating on unofficial platforms.
The recruitment exercise forms part of broader efforts to improve the manpower strength and operational efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force as authorities continue moves to expand policing capacity nationwide.
The command also said a dedicated enquiry line has been made available for members of the public seeking clarification on the process.
