June 15, 2025 – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent killings in Benue State, calling them “senseless bloodletting.” In a strong message released on social media, he stated, “Enough is enough! I have directed the security agencies to act decisively, arrest perpetrators of these evil acts on all sides of the conflict, and prosecute them.”

The President also urged political and community leaders to stop using words that may cause more violence. “Political and community leaders in Benue State must act responsibly and avoid inflammatory utterances that could further increase tensions and killings,” he said.

Calling for peace, Tinubu added, “This is the time for Governor Alia to act as a statesman… Our people must live in peace… with fairness, openness and justice.”
