SEC Announces Date for Pre-Registration Training, Exam for Capital Market Operators

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a public notice to all prospective Capital Market Operators regarding the upcoming pre-registration training and examination. According to the Commission, the next training cycle is set to begin on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Eligible participants include applicants who were invited but did not attend the March 2025 training, those who attended but failed the March 2025 examination, and other applicants who meet the conditions for pre-registration training.

Participation in the training and examination is only open to those who complete the registration process on the official application portal. “This portal has been specified in the email notification sent to each eligible applicant,” the SEC stated.

The deadline for completing the registration process is July 4, 2025. SEC emphasized the importance of compliance, referencing Rule 3(6)(b), which states that “an application for registration shall lapse, where the applicant fails or neglects to comply with the outlined registration requirements within twelve (12) months of filing the application.”

In such cases, the Commission explained that “the affected applicant would be required to file a fresh application for registration.”
