The Sokoto State Government has announced an employment initiative after approving the recruitment of 2,440 Community Health Workers in partnership with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency. According to the Office of the Press Secretary, the workers will be deployed across the 244 wards to improve primary healthcare services and expand access to public health at the grassroots.
The government said the plan supports its commitment to reducing unemployment and creating job opportunities through healthcare jobs that boost community development. Officials explained that the new manpower will help strengthen basic healthcare delivery and support residents who depend on local facilities.
The statement noted that details on the recruitment process will be shared by the State Recruitment Committee. Abubakar Bawa, Director General, Media and Publicity, confirmed the update and said the government is actively empowering citizens.
