July 21, 2025 — The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has raised an alert to the public concerning ongoing fraudulent recruitment schemes targeting job seekers.

Recall that Lagos Tescom recruitment was recently conducted.

The Permanent Secretary of TESCOM, Mrs. Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila, issued a strong warning on Monday, cautioning residents not to fall victim to individuals demanding payment in exchange for securing teaching employment with the Lagos State Government.

According to her, “The Commission has not started the process of shortlisting candidates,” adding that “online submission of applications for recruitment of teachers into the Lagos State Public Service has just ended.”

Mrs. Oyekan-Ismaila stressed that the recruitment process is entirely based on merit and warned that no payments are required at any stage.

She stated clearly that any individual claiming to assist with shortlisting or selling TESCOM teaching slots is acting fraudulently.

She said, “The recruitment exercise into the State public service is purely merit-based with no monetary requirements.”

She urged the public to ignore messages on WhatsApp and other social media platforms requesting money for help with shortlisting or accessing dashboards.

The Permanent Secretary further advised job seekers to remain cautious and stay informed. “Be vigilant and do not fall victim to these scams,” she warned.
