Thousands of applicants under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Initiative are currently unable to select training centres, as placement remains ongoing across the country.

Many candidates who logged into the portal were greeted with a notification stating that centre selection is still in progress, urging them to check back regularly for available slots.

The message reads:

“Center Selection

Thank you for your interest in the TVET Initiative. Please note that placement is still ongoing.

We encourage you to check the portal regularly and select available centres as soon as they appear.
Thank you for your patience.”

Applicants Facing Limited Access to Centres

The issue is largely affecting applicants in states where training centres have already reached full capacity. As a result, new applicants are unable to proceed with selection at this stage.

Despite the situation, stakeholders have clarified that this is not a system failure but part of the ongoing placement process.

Applicants are advised not to attempt registration in other states, as placements are being handled based on initial application details and available capacity within each state.

Assurance From Stakeholders

Authorities involved in the programme have assured that efforts are ongoing to resolve the situation and accommodate more applicants.

They emphasised that those seeing the notification are not alone, as many others across different states are experiencing the same delay.

What Applicants Should Do

Applicants are encouraged to remain patient and continue checking the portal frequently for updates.

Once additional centres or slots become available, eligible candidates will be able to complete their selection process.

The TVET Initiative remains a key programme aimed at equipping Nigerians with practical skills, and officials say ongoing adjustments are necessary to ensure fair placement and effective training nationwide.
