The Federal Ministry of Education has announced a new development under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program.
Emails have been sent to candidates about the inclusion of Leatherworks as a sub-trade.
According to the message, “Dear Candidate, Under the TVET Initiative, we are pleased to inform you that Leatherworks is now available as a sub-trade under Fashion Design and Garment Making. Some centres in your community are offering Leatherworks as a course.”
This update gives candidates two clear options:
1. Switch your application to Leatherworks, if this is your preferred option, or
2. Continue with Fashion Design and Garment Making as originally selected.
The notice further explained, “Please click on the link below to indicate your choice. This will help us assign you to the most suitable training centre in your area.”
Switch application to Leatherworks:
https://tvet.education.gov.ng/switch-to-leatherworks? applicationId=900208&token=beddf3f954ef582d
After candidates follow the link and successfully convert their chosen skill, they will receive a confirmation message that reads Application Skill Converted. However, the system also prevents multiple attempts.
Anyone trying to switch again will see the notification, “You have Already Converted. Your application has already been converted to LeatherWorks. No further conversion is needed.”
The Federal Ministry of Education noted, “Thank you for your cooperation as we continue working to equip Nigerian youth with practical skills.”
