The University of Maiduguri has announced massive job opportunities across several faculties and departments, calling for applications from qualified Nigerians to fill academic, technical, and non-academic roles.
According to an official statement signed by the Registrar, Ahmad A. Lawan, the recruitment aims to attract competent candidates into multiple key sectors within the institution.
In the released statement, the Registrar said, “Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following academic, technical and non-teaching positions in the University of Maiduguri.”

Job seekers interested in academic staff positions must meet the following qualifications:
I. Graduate Assistant: A holder of first degree in relevant field from the University of Maiduguri or any other recognized institution at a minimum performance level of Second-Class Upper Division plus NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate
II. Assistant Lecturer: Holder of master’s degree of the University of Maiduguri or of any other recognized institution or Holder of first degree at a minimum performance level of Second-Class Upper Division plus professional qualification Accounting-ACA/ACCA; Law-BL; Medicine and Dentistry-MBBS/BDS; Veterinary Medicine DVM/BVM; Pharmacy-B.Pharm; Engineering-NSE/COREN and Be of good conduct and demeanour in line with the Code of Conduct of the University
III. Lecturer II: Holder of master’s degree of University of Maiduguri or any other recognized institution with at least three (3) years post qualification experience and relevant professional qualification (Accounting, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Engineering, etc.) and Be of good conduct and demeanour in line with the Code of Conduct of the University
IV. Lecturer I: A master’s degree holder who has been Lecturer II or equivalent for three years with 4 years of teaching experience and a minimum of 16 points admissible research publications or Holder of recognized higher professional postgraduate fellowship [e.g. FMCP, PPCS or equivalent in Medicine and Dentistry who has passed Part 1 of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and Be of good conduct and demeanour in line with the Code of Conduct of the University
V. Senior Lecturer: A Lecturer I with PhD or equivalent for three (3) years with five (5) years of teaching experience and experience of teaching and supervision at postgraduate level. A candidate must have a minimum of 32 points from publications out of which 12 must have been obtained since last promotion. Must be of good conduct and demeanour in line with the Code of Conduct of the University
